The Real Academia de Ciencias Económicas y Financieras forms part of the Institutional Administration and is a corporation of public law, the bylaws of which are approved by the Government by means of a Royal Decree. The Academy democratically elects its President, as well as each member of the Governing Body, and, pursuant to tradition, co-opts its new members from among prestigious personalities.
