Elected Academicians

These are people whose acceptance into the Academy has been approved and have been voted upon in time and form, but who have yet to read their acceptance speech. The seniority in the Academy runs as from this latter date. The principle duty of the Elected Academician is the required presentation within the time limit of six months, which is not extendable, to run from the date of election, of a speech on an unedited subject within the areas of knowledge of the Academy. The President shall entrust a Full Member with a speech of reply with the object of causing a scientific debate. The reply shall not be by mere form or ritual but must constitute a true dialogue, and in no case a simple acquiescence with the thesis of the newly elected member.
