King Philip VI yesterday received the five presidents of the Latin American Strategic Alliance of University Campus, including the full academician of the Real Academia de Ciencias Económicas y Financieras of Spain (RACEF) Dídac Ramírez.

The King received in audience the rectors of the Complutense University of Madrid, Carlos Andradas; the University of Barcelona, ​​Didac Ramírez; the National Autonomous University of Mexico, Enrique Luis Graue Wiechers; the University of Buenos Aires, Alberto Barbieri, and the University of Sao Paulo, Marco Antonio Zago, whose centers form the Latin American Union of Universities (ERU) together representatives of the sponsoring entity, Banco Santander, the general director of Banco Santander and Santander Universities, José Antonio Villasante, and the national director of Banco Santander for Spain, Rami Aboukhair Hurtado.

In the meeting held in Barcelona on the eve of the hearing, the five rectors signed the agreement establishing the Union, which has, among other objectives, promote the exchange of students and teachers, raise funds for research and offer joint diplomas in both continents. Currently, the five centers comprising ERU add 900,000 students and teachers over 85,000.
